Picture this: you spend loads of time with someone, chatting all the time. You share secrets, laugh together, and snuggle up on the sofa when watching movies.

Just one thing, though – there's no official label to define what is going on between you two. When talking about your connection, neither of you is referred to as boyfriend or girlfriend specifically. Welcome to the world of "situationships".

Think of a situationship like being in a romantic relationship that doesn't have clearly defined boundaries or commitments. It exists somewhere in between casual relationship and an official partnership - so it's kind of unclear.

In many ways, you act just like any regular couple would do by going out together, having amazing sex, meeting each other's friends, etc. But crucially, it never gets explicitly stated that this is definitely a proper relationship in those terms.

• The On-and-Off Situationship: You meet an amazing person, and then they're just not down for a full commitment because of personal reasons or the fact that they got burned before. So you stay caught in a cycle of on and off with them without actually coming to a conclusion.
